Not too many of us would argue these are trying times.

People are scared and hurting with no easy answers and sometimes little to hope for.

So what do we do with the pain?  Where can we turn?

sometimes this world feels like a hurricane blowing 
we're tossed around by the wind and waves 
so many people drowning in a sea of hurting 
what do we do with all our pain 

some of us have to find and fight an enemy 
when we need someone to blame 
some of us dress up in a high morality 
and hope that we can hide our shame 

jesus shows us there's another way 
how perfect love triumphs over fear and pain 
we don't have to fight don't have to run away 
jesus shows the way 
love shows the way 

how do we go about a transformation 
where our hearts can be at rest within the storm 
in jesus' life and death and resurrection 
is the power to transform 

no more fighting 
no more blame 
no more fear and no more shame 
living from the mind of christ 
transforming love that's deep and wide
